The Paradise Army Author's Notice Greetings. His lordship Chaos here. And here we are again, here to sit beneath a dark and starlit midnight, to retell the stories of old that we know so well like those ancient of Faery tales. For those of you who have already heard of my stories crafted from the universe of Naoko Takeuchi, I bid you welcome in your return. For those of you who have stumbled into my realms for the first time, let me invite you inside of my world. That of Sailormoon fanfiction. It is with mixed emotions that I present to you all the first four chapters of "The Paradise Army." For while it thrills me to be able to present them to you...they shall be the only chapters of this story I write. The fact of the matter is that shortly I shall be retiring as an SM fanfiction author. I feel I have contributed all that I can to the genre; it is time for me to step down and let aspiring new authors take my place. There are new projects I wish to try my hand at, new ideas I desire to play with. It has been both fun and a learning experience here upon the ASMR, but it is swiftly growing time for this author to quietly disappear into the shadows he so enjoys. I should clarify a few things about this fanfic first, though. "The Paradise Army" was begun late last summer, with the fourth chapter completed just before the new year. At the time I had academics and stories like "1101" and "Still Pretty Fly (For A Hentai)" to hold my focus. I was tempted to just not submit any of this story at all; uncompleted works irritate me like a challenge left unmet. Yet to remain working on this project would require of me another month or so, and about another 100 pages. The story has only just begun to explore the true conspiracy, after all. Yet at the same time I felt that there were unexplored ideas presented within that were worth being seen. It is my hopes that what has been written in this tale will stimulate the imaginations of other authors who wish to write about Crystal Tokyo. To let them start to ask their own "what if?" questions about the smaller details often left unnoticed in fanfiction. This is why I would rather you be given the chance to read 4 chapters of an unfinished tale as opposed to nothing at all. For as much as I would like to complete it, I find that now is not the time. Will I ever return to "The Paradise Army"? Perhaps. Suffice to say, should I decide to come out of retirement and resume writing Sailormoon fanfiction, this story will be the first one I shall endeavour to complete. Until that time comes--if ever-- for now you shall have to find contentment in what has been written so far. Ah, but I have ranted so much already! There is a story in our midst which craves to be read. Let the sun set beyond the horizon, the lights be dimmed low, and the brilliant moonlit night come flooding in through your open windows. Let all other thoughts, worries and questions fade away tonight. For tonight, I am your storyteller. And I have a new tale to tell you. So where shall we begin? At the beginning would be the usual response...yet such old conventions do not become me. Once upon a time, then? Again, such a beginning does not become me. These imply something epic and grand from the start, which is wrong. Everything in this world that has ended in epic myth has always started out small, a seemingly negligible fraction of how it finally ends. Perhaps for such a fanfic as this one, it is best to let everything unfold at the beginning of the end. Let me tell you a story.... -His lordship Chaos hislordshipchaos@hotmail.com
