"In Greek mythology, the
white-robed Moirae or Moerae (Greek Μοίραι — the
"Apportioners", often called the Fates) were the
personifications of destiny (Roman equivalent: Parcae, "sparing
ones", or Fata; also equivalent to the Germanic Norns). They
controlled the metaphorical thread of life of every mortal and
immortal from birth to death (and beyond). Even the gods feared the
Moirae. Zeus himself may be subject to their power, as the Pythian
priestess at Delphi once admitted." -from Wikipedia
Sailor Pluto tried to see anything but
darkness, but couldn't. She had broken one rule too many as the
Senshi of Time; the punishment being her last breath. However, giving
up her life seemed so right; Small Lady would hopefully awaken from
Wiseman's brainwashing; Sailor Moon and Neo Queen Serenity would
have their crystals back; and the future might survive. She only
hoped these things since she could do nothing to help this time.
So, death has finally caught up with
me, she thought as she floated in the dark abyss. She then saw three
figures, cloaked in dark, Wiseman-like hoods, standing above her.
Luckily, she knew that these figures were not in league with the
likes of evil. They weren't actually on her side either.
In their hands they held a thread so
long that it touched the 'ground.' The first figure had the spool of
the thread in hand; the one in the middle of the other two gathered
the thread into a loose cat's cradle; and finally the last of the
three held the end of the thread with one hand and a scissor-like
tool in the other. Just like her father had told her, the Moerae--the
Hooded Ones--could end anyone's life.
She had lived a long life. She knew it
had to end at some point. But something told her that she still had a
job to do, a duty other than the one Queen Serenity had given her.
That 'something' she heard inside her 'head' sounded a lot like Neo
Queen Serenity. No, wait, it sounded like...her younger self, Usagi.
Suddenly, there was a fourth
cloaked-one in the abyss, although this one wore a white robe. She
could hear whispering, going back and forth between the Hooded Ones
and the new hooded one. Then, they stopped. An agreement had been
made.
Slowly, her eyes closed but not on her
own accord.
Then she could hear crying. She opened
her eyes, to find out where the sound came from but bright lights
blinded her instantly... she then realized that the crying was coming
from her own mouth. A nurse approached her from above, picked her up,
and feed her a bottle.
"Poor thing," the nurse said
to a doctor who had just come into the room, "her mother just
died. No wonder she's been crying."
"Babies cry," the doctor then
said, "what's sad is that she has no idea her mother is gone."
But she did. So she willed herself to
cry even louder just to know she was alive.
