Chapter Two
“Meatball head I can’t help you if you won’t tell me what’s wrong.” Darien said. “Now stop crying.”
Serena nodded and looked up at him; her eyes were red and puffy from her tears. “Well my idiot boyfriend broke up with me, and my parents and friends all don’t give a damn about me.”
“What do you mean?” Darien said. “Why wouldn’t they care about you getting your heart broken by your boyfriend?”
Serena sighed. “Well this isn’t easy but I am also carrying my ex-boyfriend’s child and I decided to keep it but my family and my friends all told me that they wouldn’t have anything to do with me.”
“Don’t worry about a thing Meatball head,” Darien said smiling. “You can stay here as long as you need to, I don’t mind.”
Serena smiled gratefully at him. “Thank you so much Darien!” she said. “You’re really kind for letting me stay here.”

“You said what?!” Luna cried as she looked at the scouts in anger. “How could all of you be so mean to her?”
Lita looked at the ground. She was feeling really guilty after what she had said to Serena. “Luna, we didn’t mean to say those horrible things to Sere, but she had to be told that we can’t always help her.”
“This is not how the sailor scouts are supposed to act,” Luna said. “You all have a mission to protect the planet and now without Sailor Moon it is going to be more complicated.”
Amy dropped her book. “I shouldn’t have listened to my mother,” she said softly. “If it wasn’t for Sere I would still be alone….”
Mina looked at Raye with furious eyes. “Are you happy now Raye?!” she cried. “You got what you wished for! You can be leader because Sere is gone! Is this what you wanted?!”
Raye didn’t say a word she kept sweeping the temple grounds as Mina yelled at her.
“Answer me!” Mina screamed.
Raye looked at Mina. “Do you really think that I wanted Sere to quit being Sailor Moon?!” she said. “I may treat her mean but she is my best friend, I did not want this to happen!”
“Girls we have to find Sere and apologize to her.” Amy said. “I mean our parents are wrong about her being a bad influence on us.”
“Right, but where would she be?” Lita said. “Her parents kicked her out.”
“We’ll just have to start searching for her.” Luna said. “But she won’t be able to become Sailor Moon anymore since she destroyed her brooch.”

“Mmm….Ice cream,” Serena said as she put a cherry on top of the hot fudge sundae she had made. “This is going to be great!”
“Meatball head!” Darien said. He was standing behind Serena. “You can’t eat that, it is not healthy for you and your baby.”
Serena glared at him. “Give it back Chiba!” She cried trying to make a grab for the sundae. “It had cherries in it!”
Darien sweat dropped. “Meatball Head, you have to quit eating junk food it is not good for you.” He said. “How about I make you something?”
Serena nodded. “Ok.” She said. “I’m going to go outside for some fresh air.”

The scouts all looked everywhere for Serena but she was no where to be found. They had just about given up hope when they saw a girl with a pair of familiar blonde meatballs sitting on a balcony rail looking at the sky as her golden pigtails danced in the wind.
“Is that Serena?” Raye said she squinted to get a better view. “I think it is her!”
Mina looked at the apartment building and then gasped. “You don’t suppose that she is living there.”
The other girls sweat dropped as they heard the response from their ditzy friend.
“Come on let’s go,” Amy said. “We have to go apologize to her for what we did earlier today.”
The girls made their way to the apartment entrance going to the sixth floor where they had saw Serena.

“This is really delicious!” Serena said as she finished the curry that Darien had made. “Who knew that carrots could taste so good in curry?”
Darien smiled. “I’m glad you liked it meatball head,” he said.
Serena turned around and glared at him. “What did you just call me?!” she cried in anger.
“I’m sorry Sere,” Darien said making sure that he wasn’t about to get her mad. “How about you go watch TV or something….”
Serena smiled. “Ok!” she said going off to the living room to watch Dawson’s Creek. “This is going to be a good episode!”
Before she could continue watching the opening credits of the show there was a knock on the door.
“Oh man!” Serena cried. “Who ever is at the door better be prepared for one mad Dawson’s Creek fan.”
Serena opened the door and had to bite her tongue when she saw who was standing there. It was her so called best friends. They all had sad looks on their faces. She glared at them with a glare that could stab you.
“What do you want?!” Serena asked harshly as she leaned against the doorframe. “I don’t want any of you to be here!”
“Sere, please listen to us,” Mina said. “We are sorry for saying those harsh words to you.”
Serena crossed her arms over her chest and narrowed her eyes. “Do you really think that I would forgive you for saying awful things about me?” she said. “I am not the same person you all knew before!”
“Sere!” Raye said. “Cut the crap and just forgive us!”
“No you cut the crap; I have finally realized that you are not my true friends!” Serena said as she got ready to slam the door. “You didn’t give a damn about me so I don’t give a damn about any of you!”
“Sere wait a min…” Amy was cut off by Serena slamming the door in her face.

Inside the apartment Darien was standing there with wide eyes as he witnessed Serena slam the door in the face of her friends. This wasn’t the same sweet and forgiving girl that Serena used to be. She had become braver and mature. But it was kind of scary to see her sound so harsh.
“Meatball Head…” Darien said as Serena walked past him. “What was that all about, I thought those were your friends.”
“They are not my friends!” Serena said. “They didn’t give a damn about me so I don’t give a damn about them!”
“Meatball Head, they are your friends,” Darien said. “They just were a little out of line when they said those awful things.
“Like I really give a damn that they need me back to be Sailor M….I meant I don’t want to be the butt of all their jokes and insults.” Serena said. “They can live with their guilt for all I care!”
Darien had to agree that Serena was right; being cruel to one’s friend is very very out of line. “Your right Serena,” He said. “You shouldn’t give a damn about them if they didn’t have a good reason to do something like that.” He said. “But I’m here for you and your baby.”
Serena smiled. “I know that,” she said. “I will always be happy that you‘re here for me.”
“Of course.” Darien said smiling.

“We tried to talk to her but she is still mad at us.” Raye said to Luna. “I don’t know what else to do.”
“Well the proper word for it is that she is being a little bitch!” Lita said. “Let’s just face it Sere isn’t going forgive us at all!”
Mina nodded. “Yeah,” she said. “We do fine without her, I’m sure that fighting a youma without Sailor Moon’s help will be easy!”
Luna shook her head. “At this rate we’ll never complete the mission if the scouts fight like this…”
Artemis nodded in agreement. “I have to agree with you on that.” He said. “Don’t worry I’m sure that Sere will forgive them in time, but right now let her be alone so she can get her thoughts together.”
“You are right.” Luna said smiling.
