This fic does switch back and forth between tenses, and that was intentional. It's meant to be as if Venus is recalling the events leading up to one specific incident, the incident as it happened, and then the consequences of that incident. So, it might get a bit confusing. If you have any notes on how to improve it or anything else in the fic, please comment. ^_^
