"You know what would be awesome?"

Rei closed her eyes to shut out the light in anticipation of the migraine that was bound to follow this soon-to-be completely pointless and inane conversation. "What, Minako?"

"Being a god!"

That got Rei's attention. She sat up from the grass and stared Aino Minako directly in the eye. The new girl still didn't look quite right in the T*A Girls Uniform, and she looked even more out of place with that spark in her eye that may as well have been a neon sign that read, "Blonde Blasphemer!"

"You've got to be kidding me."

"No, no. Think about it," Minako continued, undeterred by Rei's deadpan. "You'd have people worshipping you."

Rei's eyebrow twitched. "Yeah, I got that."

"You could smite whoever you wanted - even my mother."

"I somehow doubt that would be in the universe's best interests."

"And you'd have a legion of seriously hot angels at your beck and call."

Rei felt a searing heat appear at the base of her neck. She reached over and pinched Minako's leg, snapping, "That is not a good way to look at this!"

Once Minako finished whining about the fresh bruise, she cocked her head to the side and asked, "Why not?"

Rei rolled her eyes. Why did she have to be the one to take care of the crazy new girl? "Because ruling the world's not about doing what you want. It's about responsibility and making sure everyone else is happy before you are."

Minako scrunched up her nose. "Icky."

Rei made a gesture as if to say, "Well, what can you do?"

Minako sighed, flopping down so that her head was in Rei's lap. For whatever reason, Rei let it stay there. "Oh, well. So much for that then."

Rei reached down and picked a blade of grass from Minako's bangs. "I'm glad we've got that cleared up."

"I'll just have to become a rich and famous idol like I'd always planned."

And then the migraine manifested.

"I hate you."

"You're pretty!"

"Shut up."
