He sat on the bench to watch the children play in the same park that they played in when they were little. It amused him to see their smiling faces as he remembered what it was like to be young and naive.

“Did you wait long?” The warm tone in her voice made his spine tingle. He couldn’t hold back his laughter as he looked into her emerald eyes.

“Long day at the office?” he asked her.

“That bloke, James Potter, is always doing something to keep me behind. I swear, I think he messes things up on purpose so that I would stay over with him.”

He continued to snicker as she sat next to him on the bench. “You know he’s had a thing for you, Lily, ever since you went away to that school. He has been after your knickers for years.”

“I know that, Severus. But as many times as I try to brush him off, he still persists. He thinks I’m joking when I tell him that I’m taken.” Her head rested on his shoulders as she laid back in his arms.

“Well, maybe you should tell him that I got your knickers,” he whispered seductively to her. “Then maybe he’ll stop looking for them.” The suggestion sent Lily into a fit of giggles. She rewarded his attempt at humor with a passionate kiss, which was interrupted by the gasps of little children who witnessed their exchange.

“Maybe we should take this home?” She said. He agreed and they walked, arm in arm, back to their loft.

“I wish I could be apart of your world, Lily.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, if I were magical, I would had been there at your side at Hogwarts or now at the Ministry. Then you wouldn’t have to be dealing with the likes of James.”

She stopped to reach up to his face. Her hand slicked back his clean silky black hair. “You’re more apart of my world then you realize. I know most wizard and witches choose to live their lives in their society. But my home is where my heart is…. and that’s with you. I’ve always come home to you.”

“You would always come home to me even though I can’t do magic like you can?” he asked with a pretend glum expression on his face.

Lily laughed back as she kissed at his frown. “Severus Snape, you should know by now that it has never mattered to me that you are a Squib. And besides, you have brought more magic into my life then any other wizard I’ve ever known.”
