For some strange reason, Mizuno Ami felt strangely nostalgic when riding the ferris wheel at the Juuban Land Amusement Park. It felt as if she had experienced something memorable yet was unable to remember now. It was a disconcerting sensation, one that was equal parts confusion and despair. One that made her feel as if part of herself was amiss.
The machine completed its revolution as she waited for her turn. She heard the laughter and conversations from the people who stepped out as she sat down on the seat. The ride began its movement upwards and her mindgears activated, searching for the pieces deemed lost, for the reason her heart seemed to beat faster at this place. The park became smaller from the heights and her emotions seemed to flow freely with each turn of the wheel. It felt as if the empty space beside her had once been occupied by a kindred spirit, someone that appeared to be in tune with her in both intellectually and emotionally, someone with whom she'd shared an emotion she wasn't aware of till then.
The wheel finally ended its ride. The blue-haired girl brought her feet back on firm ground as the wheel took flight again. The lost memory still eluded her like a mirage that seemed real for a distance just to turn to nothing up close, but the ache at her heart remained as her only proof of what she was certain she had once lived, but now was gone, perhaps forever.
