Summary:
Family...we all define it differently. But, how would you react if you suddenly found family you didn't know you had? And that family was very different than what you expected? Author's Comments:
This story is set in the middle of the R season, after the Doom Tree arc but before the Black Moon Family arc. Also, because it is taking place in the R season, it means that it is set in 1992. Barring mistakes on my part, this story will reference 1992 like it is the present. Also, I'm not using dub names...at least, not in the way I might be accused of. There is a specific reason why a certain name comes up. Hang in there with me; I promise it will be worth it.

Here is my review, as promised. ^^
First of all, excellent concept. I've always thought it was awfully convenient that no one appeared to pick up the pieces after Mako's parents died. This gives a plausible explanation for why she had to become emancipated and why she was essentially alone in the world.

I like this story. It is really good so far. I know you were worried about the time period and placing things, you are doing really well there, in some places you are laying it on kind of thick though. Example; at the end of chapter two, when she is talking about how the VJ (Bill Bellemy hahaha!) was probably going to compare her with 'breakout star Toni Braxton'; the reference was good but I don't imagine her talking about her that way.
