I really enjoyed this insightful little offering. I feel you have a great way of conveying a tale. But I did notice a few typos and minor structural flaws, not a real problem if you go over it carefully and give it a good proofing.

Your characterisation was great the way you got inside his head and drew the reader into his inner struggles. Highlighting the fact that fate and circumstance collaborate together to forge the finished product. Cleverly done! *hands you a crystal wand and bows* L.

Even though you say this is a simple story, I think it is a very thorough and engaging examination of Peter and his motivations. You bring his parents vividly to life, giving him a realistic psychological background. I really like how you show that he has no concept of right and wrong, all he thinks about is survival. He never has to face consequences, so you can see how desperate and afraid he would be when Sirius and Remus make him do that. It's also easy to see how he would be swayed by Voldemort's will.

"His great strengths in such situations were his lack of pride and his inability to make decisions. Because he was always forced into actions by some outside influence, he was never responsible for anything that happened. Guilt never bothered him since nothing was ever his fault." - this perfectly describes his moral system, such as it is.

I hope you post more of your HP fanfiction here.

Author's response:

Thank you very much. I plan to add a few more chapters to it (no more than four I think) which will examine his life from school until the event hinted at in the very begining. I hope you will find the rest of the story interesting.
